Before I start this, I just wanted to mention the author Steven Brill, best known for the magazine The American Lawyer, also shares the same name with a filmmaker best known for directing films like Heavyweights and Mr. Deeds, as well as the writer for the Mighty Ducks trilogy. I just think that's very funny and wanted to share that.

Anyways, this article was an enlightening one. I was three years old, too young to truly understand the impact and shifts that emerged after the devastating WTC attacks. So reading how the country shifted in terms of security, with new bills, higher budgets, and different proposals was well worth a read.

I also appreciated the multimedia presentation of it all. Not just in the way the article divides itself with quotes and even phrases like "Jack Bauer syndrome" but also photos and videos. Pictures of the homeland security staff was expected, but showing TSA lines and the police after the Pulse nightclub shooting only emphasizes the extreme security the article talks about. And while only one YouTube video was used in the article, it's a quality video that emphasizes what Steven Brill is discussing in his lengthy article.

It's a textbook example of what our stories should be like.
