When I saw the title “The Final Days of Eli (Or Not?), I automatically it was going to be about Eli Manning and his final season in the NFL. I was right.

I thought this was a very well written and interesting article. We got to go inside the minds of both Eli, his family, and his teammates/coaches as his career was winding down. I really liked that in the very beginning of the article, we kind of got a play-by-play of Manning’s family at his last game before he was ultimately benched for Daniel Jones. This was very unique and was the first time I read something like that.

It is very interesting now to read all of that now knowing he just retired after this past season. I remember he started the game in Philadelphia in early December, and I knew this had to be one of his last games in the league. The game went into overtime, and the Eagles won on the opening drive. I actually felt bad that he didn’t get his chance to lead a potential game winning drive.

The article was also very informative and gave a lot of information about Eli and his journey that I had not known before. This article really did a good job telling the reader about Manning not only as a player, but also as a person and how his team felt about him.

I thought one of the coolest parts about the article was when it mentioned that Manning gave advice to his replacement, and then moments later he proceeded to score the game winning touchdown. It told me that even when he is not on the field playing, a legendary player like him can help lead a team to victory.

Overall, reading about the final games of Manning’s historic career was very informative and interesting to read. I enjoyed reading more about Manning, and especially how him and his family handled the situation of him eventually being replaced as the main quarterback in New York.
